The Striking Art of:
Brian Tarsis
Brian Tarsis has been illustrating for BDSM magazines since 1983, when his lush, sensual pencil drawings began appearing in Bondage Life magazine. In ’87 he moved to Los Angeles and became that magazine’s editor for several years, developing a reputation in the bondage community for his photography and rope bondage skills.

In ’91 he left Bondage Life to shoot BDSM videos for HOM and its parent company, London Video. Working simultaneously as director, cameraman and videotape editor, and with the help of friends Olivia Outre and Ernest Greene, he made over 150 shows over the next six years, and worked with some of the hottest fetish stars of the period, including Sharon Kane, Summer Knight, Alexis Payne, Porsche Lynn and Star Chandler.

In ’97 he left HOM to edit BDSM magazines for B&D Pleasures, and in ‘98 moved to the Seattle area, where he still lives today. In Seattle he started his own publishing company called Chastenwood Press, publishing mostly his own work, as well as a successful spanking social group called Chastenwood.

Over the years he has continued to do BDSM and spanking illustration for various magazines and quality websites, and has authored four graphic novels, which are treasured by collectors worldwide. He is currently hard at work finishing up his next graphic novel, and illustrating SM and spanking novels to be published by his own company. You can find his work all over the web, but his official site, where more of his artwork can be viewed and where most of his graphic novels can be purchased, is at www.briantarsis.com.

Below is a mixed assortment of Brian’s illustrations. The spanking art is work that was commissioned by Shadow Lane, the world’s premier spanking company. Most of the pencil renderings are from the upcoming graphic novel Opal!
