From the Desk of the Editor

There are times when I'm so 'in my head' about BDSM that I forget I'm navigating in the vanilla world most of the time. They say men think about sex every 20 seconds, well for me, it's BDSM at about the same frequency.

In discussion with vanilla friends one day, we were speaking of a couple who'd been arguing, she was drunk and he was fed up. He finally threw her on the bed, tied her hands behind her back and her ankles together. (he was trying to stop her from driving - extreme and I don't recommend or approve of his actions, but that's what happened). My girlfriend said something about him hog-tying her. I nearly had to bite my tongue off to stop from saying "OH that's not a hog tie!"

It's nothing for me to pipe up with a "yes sir" when my boss asks me to do something for him. (oops!) And when talk at the office moves towards spankings and bondage I stay silent. I don't DARE say a word in case I say way-too-much!

We just got a Home Depot here not that long ago. I was over at my domme friend's house and her oldest son was talking about putting in applications for part time work. So what do I say? "Why not go to Dom, er Home Depot?" My girlfriend gives me 'the look". Her son didn't seem to notice. Whew!

Enough about me and my seemingly one-track mind. This issue brings you some great articles and pictorials. We were fortunate to be able to interview Lew Rubens and Maria Shadows this issue. Can you say energy? Master Michael talks about how he runs his poly family in a very honest and frank article. Check out our dungeon to get an overview of fireplay by Master Guardian, if you have ever wondered how, this is your opportunity to find out.

We're pleased to welcome a few new members to our TDV staff. Tygra Forte is now our Fiction Editor, Sugar Masters an additional Contributing Editor, Rick Umbaugh will be writing a column for us called Getting Started which will focus on new dominants navigating the BDSM scene. And last but certainly not least I'm relieved to have a webmaster in Sweet_n_Evil Master, a funky dom geek who is taking his 'sweet and evil' nick very seriously with every question I bother him with. Stop by our "About Us" page to see the rich and diverse backgrounds our staff bring to you each and every issue.

You'll notice the menu bar has been changed to include a few more items for your reading pleasure, including a new seach feature that will allow you to search our current issue as well as the archives for specific pieces of information.

OH! How could I forget the best news of all? Effective this issue, The Dominant's View will be published on a bi-monthly schedule. This means you'll have fresh and exciting content from us every two months. Look for Issue 23 Jan 1, 2004!

lf you would like help support the zine by shopping at some special sites that we've affiated ourselves with. This way you carry on your day to day shopping and TDV gets a small percentage of the total of your purchase. All funds from Club TDV and our affilate income will go to pay for bandwidth overages and more free content for you!

All that and I'm only touching on a small percentage of what we have going on in this issue. I hope you all find a little something to enrich your kink.

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish everybody a joyous holiday season from everybody here at The Dominant's View.

Happy Holidays!
