TDV:
Can you give us a little background about
you, how you got involved in creating Bondage Suite?
Ray: The sight of a tied
up woman has always been exciting...ever since I was about 4 or
5, I've been aware of this. I have no idea why, but it just did.
In my high school years, a friend and I sneaked into this adult
magazine store and what I saw amazed me, a whole section of mags
and videos dedicated to "bondage" It was then I knew I wasn't alone...I
always thought I was a little strange because I liked seeing tied
up women. Looking more into it I discovered 1950's Bondage Queen
Betty Page and knew that this was something that has been around
for a while. I still longed to tie up women, but was to scared to
ask any of my girlfriends (Texas is very conservative)..but that
was all about to change...
I began buying bondage videos of this one model I thought and still
think is the sexiest woman I'd ever seen tied up, Tori Sinclair.
One day I was looking through this mainstream magazine that focuses
on "B" movies and "B" movie starlets...flipping through it I saw
Tori Sinclair, but under a different name...the last few pages of
the mag gave fan club info and web addresses (this was 1996 and
the internet was still kind of new, at least to me) there was a
phone number for Tori's fan club, so I called it...I thought I'd
get an answering machine, but MUCH to my surprise Tori answered,
by her vids that I bought, I knew her voice...I fumbled through
my words, saying embarrassing stuff like "I'm your biggest admirer",
"I have all your videos"...she seemed genuinely flattered, so when
I asked if I could do a custom vid with her where I do the tying,
she said YES!!! Meeting her was a dream come true, and she was the
first woman I ever tied up (nice way to start huh?)

We
hit it off and she said she would help me with other models she
knows...so I owe everything to her. She is an amazing woman, and
I'm glad to say we're friends and she means the world to me.
From there I met and worked with other well established models
gathering content, but never thinking I'd ever have a website.
I finally got around to it and in November of 2002 www.bondagesuite.com
went live. I didn't think anyone would join, but I've been very
surprised that it's been successful, there are so many choices
for people and I'm very thankful for every member.
TDV:
Are you the photographer or the rigger or both?
Ray: Yes I do both, I consider
myself a rigger that takes pictures. I try to avoid the word "photographer"
I do my best photo-wise but I think most focus on the model and
rope work and photography last...people seem to like what they see
thankfully.
TDV: Looking at the images you supplied
your main interests seems to be Bondage. How did you learn the ties
you use?
Ray: I learned to tie by
watching the videos I bought, and I would practice tying by tying
chair legs to table legs; Tori showed me a few techniques too, but
mainly from watching the videos.
TDV: Do you practice some form of
BDSM in your personal life?
Ray: I wish I could
do it more in my personal life, but right now it's strictly professional.
Finding someone that understands what you do is difficult.
TDV: You work with lots of models,
what determines who you work with?
Ray: Looks and experience...I
try to offer visually appealing models, "girl next door" to adult
film stars, to glamour/fitness models.
TDV: What is your preference the
professional models or the amateur ones?
Ray: Again professional because they know what to
expect...however I like working with amateurs too. Willingness to
try bondage counts, and it's fun showing them what it's about, most
like it or go away thinking positive things about bondage.
TDV:
Have you ever shocked an amateur one with the type of shoot/bondage
you plan to do?
Ray: I am upfront about what the shoot will entail.
There was this one time that I hired a model through an agency and
she did not know it was a bondage shoot even though I was upfront
on the type of assignment. I went through everything with her and
explained what I was doing; by the end the model liked the assignment.
I feel it's wrong to mislead the model and do something they're
not expecting, communication is the key to a good working relationship.
TDV: Do they come unprepared for the
actual 'work' involved? Because I know it's not all fun and easy
when you are doing a shoot.
Ray: Some do, they think "all I have to do is sit
there and be tied up..." However they get quite a work out struggling
against their bonds and the different positions you put them in...plus
the ropes are tight, and some aren't expecting the feel of being
completely helpless...
TDV: So when you do a shoot, you
want them to struggle and fight against the rope?
Ray: Yes, I want them to struggle, and put forth a
good effort, when making a video...some models are good actresses,
but when you have them tied very strict, you can tell that no matter
what they do there's not way to escape. Seeing the struggle is kind
of sexy, I think.
TDV: Do you show actual series of images
on your site, meaning from the beginning when she is first tied
and then during the struggle? I guess what i'm asking is, are all
your images posed or do you let the camera just pictures as the
ladies twist and turn?
Ray: All of the images are posed for, I want to give
my members and visitors a nice "clean" image of the models. I have
tried to take the photos while they were struggling but a lot came
out blurry.
TDV:
Does work and play ever overlap a little?
Ray: Sometimes if you're comfortable with the model,
you can tickle them while they're tied or make a bet whether they
can escape a certain bondage position.
TDV: Do you have any funny stories
or bloopers you can share with us?
Ray: I was working with adult film starlet Amber Michaels,
it was our first time to shoot and I was very nervous...she's very
beautiful and very easygoing, but for some reason I was still nervous.
During our small talk between positions she mentioned she does Tae
Kwan Do...I asked her to show me some self defense moves...she asked
me to grab her and she

quickly did a counter move.
I asked what she'd do once there was some distance between her and
her "would be" attacker, with out hesitation she did this round
house kick and kicked me in the stomach (ouch). She didn't mean
to, I was closer than we both thought, she felt terrible and apologized...but
after that we hit it off lol…tough way to break the ice but effective.
TDV: Hmmm kind of changes the position
of who's the top and who's the bottom huh?
Ray: Yes, lol, it
did...she's physically very strong and you have to make sure you
tie her really tight or she'll escape. She has an amazing body,
and I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of one of her kicks
again!
TDV:Sounds
to me like you have taken a life long fantasy and turned it into
a nice little business for yourself. What would you say your site
offers That others sites don't?
Ray: Thanks,
it has been a fantasy come true, its had its moments, and believe
it or not it does feel like "work" every once in awhile, but I love
doing it and seeing the results. Hearing positive feedback is a
bonus, I had no idea how much others would enjoy seeing my images...but
I know they are there for the lovely models, I've always said the
models make the site.
I would hope my site offers a "regular guy" feel...I mean, I'm not
the best photographer, I know that, but hopefully they'll see if
I can do it they can too...I'm here to tell you it's really by luck
that I'm doing this, if I hadn't called Tori Sinclair's fan club
number, and asked her if I could tie her up, who knows what I'd
be doing...I offer all original material ,a nice variety of models,
and clean rope work. I hope others will stop by and see what I have
to offer
