What can we say
about Kennady's art? The colors are vibrant and full of
energy. You can 'feel' the pain and the delight of his
subjects. These pictures jump right out at you. They bring
me back to my early teenaged days of sneaking into my
girlfriend's parent's bedroom to look at the Playboy and
Penthouse magazines. (We liked to look at the dirty jokes.
We did - honest!). Kennady's pictures have that glossy
magazine feel to them I think. He's sent us a bunch to
enjoy. If you like them, write him and let him know.
When did you begin producing fetish
artwork?
After leaving college, it was hard going, finding regular
work as an illustrator. I had a few temporary jobs before
taking a job at a local joinery. I found out shortly after
beginning that they had a lucrative sideline in producing
and fitting fetish furniture to pro-dommes in and around
the London area. I was immediately impressed by the dommes
and their lifestyle and it was then that I began to produce
S/M artwork, occasionally painting portraits for the dommes
themselves.
Eventually I moved on to work full time as a comic strip
and magazine illustrator producing fetish artwork whenever
I had the time.
Your artwork covers a range of
S/M themes. What is your own preference/orientation?
I've experimented with, and
enjoyed both dom and sub roles. I think consensual power
exchange between genders is the most erotic aspect of
human sexuality. I think it plays a part, however small,
in any sexual encounter.
What medium do you favour in
your artwork?
If time weren't a factor, I'd prefer gouache with brush,
airbrush and some pencil. As time is nearly always a factor
its generally scanned outline and coloured on computer.
You do commissioned
work I understand. What is the cost of a piece of your
work?
Commissioned
art runs between 40 and 80 US dollars. I can be contacted
for details at: kennady @ kennady.screaming.net
Kennady tells TDV that he is kinky as hell but he does
have 'hard limits' on what he won't create for you. Just
ask, as long as you aren't a 'polite canadian girl - HA!"
apparently he'll tell you. He also has a large collection
of his art showing at Tokentown.
