Giger, Franzetta, Boris, Surayama
and numerous forgotten Victorian engineers, have all played a major
part in the inspiration of my work in one form or another.
Unlike most of my contemporaries I use 3D software to create
my images, I have been accused by a small number of purists that
my work is not art; I disagree as art is a process of the mind,
and the computer is just a tool that enables that process, just
the same as a brush or pencil.
I try to illustrate thoughts and feelings rather than the usual
traditional erotic images that permeate every corner of modern
day society. Our thoughts are often far more extreme than could
ever be humanly possible, and all our minds have dark recesses
in which I like to throw a little light.
I’m
often asked why use machines? Why not!
The machine makes the ideal catalyst, as the pleasure can go
on forever and in our minds we wish it would, plus the machines
make a sharp contrast in every way to the human form and can
often amplify the message embedded in my work.
